Access an enhanced versions of the standard Windows Media Player. Check out new options such as real-time search mode, group headers in the Library pane, and disc-number support to the media library. Configure hotkeys for using tag editing and advanced playback.

"Windows Media Player Plus!" is written for Windows Media Player 11 or higher,
and supports Windows Media Player 12 on Windows 8; Overall, it is a plug-in that adds various user interface and playback enhancements, such as a new tag editor, global hotkeys and Party Shuffle, to Windows Media Player.

Details of this overview are revealed in these enhanced features, such as:
Editing menus, which are accessed featuring right-clicking, hotkeys facilitating speed and convenience, festive or party implements that satisfy user excitement cravings, social networking that currently appeals to the masses and recovery measures ready to be implemented in case of any mal-function.

Editing features provide for display of the current media playing in the title bar of Windows Media Player; and allow fast navigating through the media library when an external application is connected, such as Windows Media Center or Logitech Media Display; since the disc number can be setup in the media library, Windows Media Player uses this disc number for sorting the tracks of a DVD album, for example.

"Windows Media Player Plus!" supports Tag Editor Plus which is an alternative for Windows Media Player's Advanced Tag Editor, and includes added support for both individual as well as batch editing, such as editing tags of multiple songs at once; tag editing is provided for the following: Composer, Conductor, Publisher, Writer and the Artist Info page; tag editing can also be applied to lyrics, comments as well as further critical editing and viewing of album art and embedded pictures.

Tag changes are now immediately written to the music file when clicking Ok or Apply, if the file is not playing or in use by another application.

You can simply start typing, to search and find Info in the media library, without having to click on the search field first. The option to bring back the, Find in library, right-click menu item on Windows Media Player 12, is also included. Disabling group headers in the Library Pane is supported.

Additional editing features for faster access and control include advanced playback options such as Stop after current and Close after current menu items; they are accessible when right-clicking Windows Media Player's Play button and automatically stop playback or close Windows Media Player when the current media has ended.

Access to the Properties-settings of any Windows Media Player plug-in from within the expanded-main menu such as Plug-in from Tools, property-setting, is available without having to go to Options menu first.

Right-click access to the standard Explorer menu of a media file, directly from within Windows Media Player, is also possible.

Right-clicking action for "play next option" with a media item in Windows Media Player 11's library is supported.

Finally, pressing the space bar lets Windows Media Player play and pause alternatively.
Windows Media Player supports Global hotkey action within any running application. Stepping frame forward or backward for video only, as well as increasing, decreasing, or resetting playback rate on all media are typical implements. The space bar local hotkey now also starts playback when stopped.

Festive occasions can be complemented through support for automatic, dynamic playlist generation, which gets filled up with randomly picked songs.

The option to manually implement this setup is supported as songs can be added, reordered or removed in-order to adjust the playlist size. This is very useful in creating a party or relaxing, audio-streaming, atmosphere for a group or solo experience, respectively.

Social Networking is addressed with a configurable, enhanced, replacement of the Windows Live Messenger Music plug-in, What I'm Listening To.

New support for showing the currently playing media in Skype's mood message is also supported.

And if there is any mis-adventure requiring functional-recovery of this Windows Media Player Plus!, all source playlist, party shuffle, last active playlist, media item, and playback position can be restored to Windows Media Player startup; and in the case of a Windows Media Player crash all plug-ins can quickly be re-enabled afterward.
